What You Can Get Help With

Clear guidance on the issues people face most in family court

Navigating the family court system can feel overwhelming, especially when you are representing yourself.

The Support Hub focuses on the areas that people commonly struggle with, helping you understand what to expect and how to prepare at each stage of the process.

  • Understanding the family court process and what happens at each stage

  • Preparing for hearings and knowing what the court expects

  • Cafcass involvement and what their role means for your case

  • Writing statements, schedules, and supporting documents

  • Presenting evidence clearly and effectively

  • Common mistakes made by litigants in person — and how to avoid them

  • Managing communication with the other party and professionals

You don’t need to know everything at once, just enough to take the next step with confidence.

Family Court Support Guides

Our Family Court Support Guides are designed for people navigating the family court process without legal representation. They provide clear, structured explanations of key stages, expectations, and common challenges, helping you prepare with greater confidence and understanding.

Each guide breaks down complex information into straightforward, practical guidance you can return to at any time. The focus is on clarity, preparation, and helping you feel more in control of your next steps.

These guides cover areas such as preparing for hearings, understanding Cafcass involvement, organising statements and evidence, and avoiding common mistakes made by litigants in person.

These guides are educational resources written by Dave and Gemma based on their extensive experience and do not constitute legal advice.

UK Family Court Support Hub Community

Navigating family court can feel isolating, particularly when you are representing yourself.  Dave and Gemma understand this and want to help anyone going through this process.

The UK Family Court Support Hub Facebook group is a supportive, moderated space for people who want to better understand the process and feel less alone while doing so.

The group exists to provide peer support, shared experiences, and general guidance within clear boundaries. It is a place to ask questions, learn from others at different stages of the process, and access updates, resources, and educational content shared by professional McKenzie Friends.

Whether you are at the very beginning of your family court journey, already involved in proceedings or struggling with an order that is currently in place, the community offers reassurance, understanding, and practical support in a respectful environment.
